Que signifie être noire ? This Film Is Meant To Be About Stokely Carmichael est un voyage humoristique qui nous emmène du nord de Londres jusqu’au comté sauvage de Cork afin de comprendre comment elle s’inscrit dans sa filiation dans l’Angleterre du XXIème siècle.
Isis Thompson asks herself why making a film about her cousin, 60’s Black radical Stokely Carmichael, is such a battle. Is it because she isn’t very good at being Black ? And what is being Black anyway ? A humorous journey which takes us from leafy North London to the wilds of County Cork in a bid to understand the nature of sex and race in 21st century Britain.
Isis Thompson vit et travaille à Londres. Diplômée de la NFTS en 2011, This Film Is Meant To Be About Stokely Carmichael est son film de fin d’études. Elle est membre du collectif Kitchen Sink Collective, une nouvelle plateforme regroupant de jeunes réalisateurs issus de tous horizons géographiques.
Isis Thomson lives and works in London. Qualified from NFTS in 2011, This Film Is Meant To Be About Stokely Carmichael is her graduation film. She is a part of the Kitchen Sink Collective, a new Platform made up of an international group of filmakers.
