A mi-chemin entre documentaire et fiction, Out of Love raconte l’histoire d’enfants des rues, quelques jours après la fin de la guerre du Kosovo. Au gré de leurs monologues où se racontent peurs et souvenirs, ils déambulent dans ce décor parfois irréel que propose la ville de Pristina.

Halfway between documentary and fiction, Out of Love tells the story of street children, in the immediate aftermath of the Kosovo war. Through their monologues, we share their memories and fears, in the almost unreal-looking background of Pristina.

Birgitte Stærmose, née en 1963, a réalisé des courts métrages primés dans le monde entier. Small Avalanches, d’après une nouvelle de Joyce Carol Oates, a notamment reçu le Prix du Meilleur court métrage au Festival d’Edimbourg. Elle a participé à Letters From Denmark, réalisé en réaction à la crise des « caricaturistes de Mahomet ». Puis elle réalise son premier long métrage, Istedgade (2006), et Sophie, un des segments du film choral Principles of Attraction, présenté à Sundance en 2007.

Birgitte Stærmose was born in 1963. She directed award-winning shorts that have been screened worldwide. Small Avalanches, based on a short story by Joyce Carol Oates, won UIP Prize for Best European Short at Edinburgh IFF. Stærmose contributed to Letters From Denmark - a film in reaction to the « Mohammed cartoon crisis ». Her first feature film, Istedgade, was released in 2006 in Denmark. The same year, she shot Sophie, a segment of the choral feature Principles of Attraction, which had its international premiere at Sundance in 2007.
