A travers ce film, Agnès Szabó cherche à faire le portrait de son père Zoltán Szabó, un écrivain hongrois célèbre, décédé alors qu’elle allait avoir 5 ans. Portrait d’un absent par les témoins qui lui ont survécu et par les traces qu’il a laissées : des maisons portant son histoire, des enregistrements de sa voix, des photos…

With this film, Agnès Szabó attempts to draw a portrait of her father Zoltán Szabó, a famous Hungarian writer. A delicate task, as she hardly knew her father, who died before she reached the age of five… The absent father’s portrait told by those who are still here, and by what is left behind: houses where he lived and full of memories, recordings of his voice, photographs...

 

Après quelques années au sein de la société de production Ex-Nihilo, Agnès Szabó, née en 1979, se forme au son aux côtés du réalisateur Claude Mouriéras. Pour poursuivre son apprentissage, elle entre à la Fémis. Mon père s’appelle Zoltán est son premier film.

After a few years spent in a TV production team (Ex Nihilo), Agnes Szabó, born in 1979, worked with director Claude Mouriéras as a sound engineer. Then she decided to go on studying sound at the French cinema school La Fémis. Mon père s’appelle Zoltán is her first film.
