Brindisi, talon de l’Italie, plaque tournante de la
contrebande de cigarettes. La réalisatrice revient sur les lieux de son enfance
pour voir ce qu’il reste de la ville qu’elle a connue, et entrevoir ce que le
futur lui réserve. A travers quatre personnages et quatre générations, un
regard sur l’amour, la prison, le passé et l’espoir à Marlboro City.

Réalisatrice du sud de l’Italie, Valentina Pedicini a toujours porté sa
terre avec elle et dans ses films. Elle s’appuie sur ses études en
anthropologie et dialectologie pour l’écriture et la réalisation de ses
documentaires afin de raconter humblement des histoires d’hommes, mais surtout
de femmes extraordinaires (elle est activiste dans les mouvements gays et
lesbiens). Depuis 2010, elle est diplômée en réalisation de l’école de film
documentaire ZeLIG.
Elle a réalisé trois autres documentaires (Pater Noster, 2008, Marching Feet, 2008, Mio
sovversivo amore,
2009).
Director from southern Italy, Valentina Pedicini always brings with her
and in her films the strong attachment to her land. Writer of cinematographic
scripts and subjects, she uses her anthropological and dialectological studies
to work in the documentary field. These studies help her to tell little stories
about extraordinary men and especially about women (she is an activist in
lesbian and gay movements). She graduated from ZeLIG Documentary Film School in
2010. She has directed three other documentaries (Pater Noster, 2008, Marching Feet, 2008, Mio sovversivo amore, 2009).
