Qu’est-ce qui empêche deux personnes d’être ensemble ? Une troisième personne. Qu’est-ce qui les empêche de se battre ? Rien. C’est l’histoire de Pedro, que l’on a poussé tellement vers le fond qu’il doit apprendre à respirer sous l’eau.

 

What stops two people from being together? A third one. What stops one person from fighting for another? Nothing. This is the story of Pedro, who by having his head pushed down so much learned how to breathe under water.

 

António Ferreira est né en Coimbra en 1970. Après des études à l’ESTC de Lisbonne, il entre à la Berlin Film Academy (dffb). En 2000, il est sélectionné à Cannes avec son film Respirar (Debaixo de água) film qui remporte plusieurs prix dans des festivals internationaux. Un an plus tard, il tourne son premier long métrage, Esquece Tudo O Que Te Disse, grand succès portugais de 2002. Il a depuis réalisé un autre long-métrage, Embargo, et termine actuellement Posfácio nas Confecções Canhão.

 

António Ferreira was born in Coimbra in 1970. After studies at the Lisbon ESTC, he enters the Berlin Film Academy (dffb). In 2000, António Ferreira was selected in Cannes with the short film Breathing (Under Water) and won several prizes in international festivals. One year later he directed his first feature, Forget everything I’ve told you, very successful iin Portugal in 2002, followed by Embargo and Posfácio nas Confecções Canhão, currently in post-production.
