Sur une petite île de la Frise, au large des Pays-Bas, un groupe d’amis très liés fête la “nuit du milieu de l’été”, suivant une tradition suédoise. Pour la première fois, un “étranger” fait partie de ce petit exil festif. Comme dans toutes les amitiés, ces trentenaires partagent tous des secrets. Mais certains restent indicibles.
A close group of friends celebrate the Swedish Midsummer Night tradition on a Frisian island, off the Netherlands coast. For the first time an outsider is invited. As with all friendships, in this thirty-something group some secrets are shared, and others remain untold.
Hiba Vink
Avant de passer à la realisation, Hiba Vink (née en 1977) a suivi plusieurs cursus universitaires. Elle a notamment étudié le théâtre, la télévision et le cinéma à l’Université d’Utrecht, puis la photographie à l’Académie des Arts de La Haye. Elle a également suivi des cours de comédie à De Trap et la masterclass “Jouer pour les réalisateurs” au Binger Filmlab. Son film de fin d’études, Ode Ober, a remporté plusieurs prix en festivals. Midsummer Night est son premier moyen-métrage.
Before directing, Hiba Vink (b. 1977) completed several studies and courses. After studying theatre, film and television at the University of Utrecht, Hiba went on to study photography at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. She also followed a course for camera acting at De Trap and completed the masterclass “Acting for Directors” at the Binger Filmlab. Her first short film, Ode Ober, was featured in many festivals and won several prizes. Midsummer Night is her first film of a longer length.
