Synopsis :
                              
Varziela, Vila do Conde : Dans le plus grand chinatown du Portugal, un homme portant chapeau et une femme disparue. Tous les ingrédients d’un polar dans un film qui suggère les mystères de l’Orient et d’une guerre à venir.
                                
Varziela,  Vila do Conde, the biggest Chinatown in Portugal. A  man wearing a hat and a missing woman. A high-heeled shoe, a blond wig and a  Chinese dress. The  confrontation between the East Wind and the Red Dragon; the cardinal points  switched as in an ultimate Mahjong game.

JOAO  PEDRO RODRIGUES :
Né en 1966, il est diplômé de l’école Supérieure de Cinéma de Lisbonne. Il a débuté comme assistant réalisateur et assistant monteur sur plusieurs courts et longs métrages.
Son premier long métrage O Fantasma a remporté de nombreux prix dans les festivals.
                              
João Pedro Rodrigues  was born in Lisbon in 1966. After studying biology at Lisbon University he attended  the Lisbon Film School, where he obtained his diploma. His public film career  began at the 54th Venice Festival in 1997 with the short PARABéNS!, which won  the Special Jury Prize. In the same year he made ESTA é A MINHA CASA and VIAGEM  à EXPO, a two-part documentary. In 2000 he directed his first fiction feature,  Phantom, which was screened in the 57th Venice Festival’s Official Competition.  In 2005, ODETE won several awards including a Cinémas de Recherche Special  Mention at the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes. His feature project TO DIE LIKE  A MAN was selected in 2007 by Cinéfondation for L’Atelier in Cannes and was  released in 2009. 
                              
                                          
                              
JOAO  RUI GUERRA DA MATA :
Né au Mozambique, João Rui Guerra da Mata a commencé à travailler dans le cinéma en 1995 comme directeur artistique sur des courts et longs métrages, notamment ceux de João Pedro Rodrigues. Il co-réalisera ensuite avec lui le court métrage China, China (2007), puis Morrer Como Um Homem en 2009, sélectionné en compétition officielle à Cannes cette même année.
                              
João Rui Guerra da  Mata was born in Lourenço Marques, Mozambique. He teached Art Direction at the  Lisbon Film School from 2004 to 2011. In 1997 he co-starred in the short  PARABéNS!, directed by João Pedro Rodrigues, that won the Special Jury Mention  at the 54th Mostra di Venezia. As an Art Director, he worked in several  features and shorts, notably the ones directed by João Pedro Rodrigues, whose  films he also co-scripted. This collaboration lately evolved to co-direction,  namely in the shorts CHINA, CHINA (2007) – 39th Directors’ Fortnight, Cannes;  Best Short Film and Audience Award, Belfort Film Festival and ALVORADA VERMELHA  (2011) – Best Portuguese Short Film, IndieLisboa Film Festival; international  premiere at Locarno Film Festival. O QUE ARDE CURA (2012) is his debut solo  film.
