 Biographie :

Après une formation documentaire, Shanti Masud réalise l’Appel en 2004, portrait in-situ en super 8 d’un jeune volontaire à l’Armée de Terre.

L’expérience du film en solitaire se poursuit jusqu’en Floride puis à New York en 2005 où Shanti retranscrit les désirs et la mémoire de ce premier voyage américain, dans un road movie expérimental aux couleurs de crème glacée : That’s where we want to go .

Entre 2008 et 2010, elle réalise un dyptique musical en noir & blanc : But we have the music et Don't touch me please, marquant une entrée progressive et expérimentale vers un cinéma de fiction.

Son film Pour la France, fiction en noir & blanc teintée de magie, voit le jour en 2013 : plusieurs fois primé, le film poursuit avec succès sa vie de festivals.

Métamorphoses, son sixième film, produit par la société Kidam, est né d’un désir de synthèse de ses multiples travaux, mettant à l’honneur le portrait, le texte, et le genre fantastique.

Shanti réalise actuellement son tout dernier film, un poème érotique au titre encore secret, avec la complicité de l’acteur Nicolas Maury. 

Entre autres petites surprises, elle développe un prochain court-métrage, poursuit l’écriture de son premier long-métrage, et prépare avec appétence des nombreux clips, autre terre fertile de l’expérimentation cinématographique.

After documentary studies, Shanti Masud directs l’Appel in 2004, which is an in-situ portrait of a young volunteer in the army, shot in super 8.

 

The solo experience of the movie continues in Florida, and then in New-York in 2005, where Shanti transcribes the desires and memory of this first American travel in an ice cream colors experimental road movie  : That’s where we want to go.

 

Between 2008 and 2010, she directs a musical diptych in black and white: But we have the music and Don’t touch me please, which make begin a progressive and experimental way to the cinema of fiction.

 

In 2013, her movie Pour la France is born: a black and white fiction with magical atmosphere. It receives several prices and continues its success in festivals.

Métamorphoses, her sixth film, produced by Kidam, is conceived with the desire of a synthesis of hers many works, highlighting the portrait, the text, and the fantastic genre.

 

Shanti is now directing her last movie, an erotic poem with a secret title, with the complicity of the actor Nicolas Maury.

 

Between some other little surprises, she is developing a next short film, beginning to write a first feature film and preparing many music videos, another way for her to experiment with the cinema.
