In order to get in touch with the devout woman whom he desires, a monk is posing as Gabriel Archangel. 

Jiří Trnka (1912-1969), maître incontesté du film d’animation en volume (La Main, 1965), a offert à l’école tchèque de la marionnette sa renommée internationale. Artiste complet, il fut également peintre, illustrateur, sculpteur, créateur de décors et de costumes pour le cinéma et le théâtre. 

Jiří Trnka (1912-1969), master in volume cartoon film (La Main, 1965), gives his international reputation to the Czech school of puppets. Full artist, he was also painter, illustrator, sculptor, scenery and costume designer for theatre and cinema.
