Vivaldi, tout juste adolescente, est déjà un ancien espoir de l’escrime. Comme elle ne parvient plus à gagner, sa mère l’oblige à regarder ses anciennes compétitions: elles ont été enregistrées sur la cassette des dernières vacances passées avant la séparation familiale, qui s’est produite quand elle était enfant. à cause d’une erreur technique, le passé affleure sous la forme de fragments énigmatiques. L’un d’eux, un film qu’elle a elle-même tourné petite, lui révélera ce qui lui avait été caché, l’obligeant à affronter le passage à l’âge adulte.
Vivaldi, only just teenager, is already a former promise in fencing. Suddenly unable to win, she is obliged by her mother to look at herself again in a videocassette: her competitions override pictures of the last holiday before the separation within the family, which took place when she was still a child. Due to a glitch in the device, the past resurfaces in the guise of enigmatic fragments. One of them, footage shot by herself when she was little, will reveal what was withheld from her, summoning her to face the passage to adult life.

Federico Di Corato
Federico Di Corato est né à Andria en 1991. La baracca (2014), son premier court métrage, a été présenté au 67e Festival de Locarno dans la section Pardi di domani. Frase d’arme est né d’un parcours de recherche dans le milieu de l’escrime et a été développé dans les ateliers d’écriture de Milan Film Network et NISI MASA – European Network of Young Cinema. En 2017, Federico Di Corato a été l’un des tuteurs du projet Per una controstoria del cinema italiano – 8 video essays, présenté au 70e Festival de Locarno.
Federico Di Corato was born in Andria in 1991. The Shack (2014), his first short film, was presented at the 67th Locarno Festival in the Pardi di domani section. Frase d’arme springs from a quest researching the world of junior fencing and was developed at the writing workshops of the Milano Film Network and NISI MASA – European Network of Young Cinema. In 2017, Federico Di Corato was one of the tutors in the project For a counter-history of Italian cinema – 8 video essays, presented at the 70th Locarno Festival.
