óscar Pérez was a Venezuelan elite police officer who rebelled against the government of Nicolás Maduro. This movie chronicles the life and death of a controversial man through the prism of his surrealist publications on social medias.

Romain Champalaune

Romain Champalaune, né en 1989, est photojournaliste et réalisateur. Après des études de montage, il s’oriente vers l’image fixe et sort diplômé de l’école Nationale Supérieure Louis-Lumière en 2012. Dans un premier temps, ses travaux sont consacrés à la société iranienne, sur laquelle il travaille pendant deux ans. Aujourd’hui il questionne des problématiques liées à l’économie de marché. Il publie dans Le Monde, Le New York Times, Der Spiegel, D. La Repubblica, WIRED, Marie-Claire, etc. En 2015 il réalise son premier film, Samsung Galaxy, sélectionné à de nombreux festivals majeurs dont le Festival International du Court Métrage de Clermont-Ferrand. Il est aujourd’hui un collaborateur régulier de l’émission Humans diffusée sur la chaîne de télévision publique hollandaise NPO.

After Film Editing studies, Romain Champalaune decided to focus on photography. He graduated from the French National School of Photography Louis Lumière in 2012. After graduation he worked on the Iranian society for two years. He depicted the daily life of a Mollah, showed the booming of plastic surgery and the absurd censorship of women’s bodies in Hollywood movies. Today he explores questions related to the world economy. The first chapter of this work is about the Samsung Group in South Korea. His photographs are published in national and international publications: Le Monde, The New York Times, Der Spiegel, D La Repubblica, WIRED, Marie-Claire, among others. His work has been exhibited at the Prix Bayeux-Calvados Festival, at Visa Pour l’Image. His first movie Samsung Galaxy has been selected at numerous film festivals including the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. He is a regular collaborator of the show Humans on the Dutch public TV network NPO.
